Nickey Kehoe Art Reception

Last Thursday evening, the folks at Nickey Kehoe, and the eponymous designers Todd Nickey and Amy Kehoe, hosted an art reception featuring the work of three talented artist-designers, Michael Reisman (paintings), Ana Kras (lighting) and Sean Daly (pillows/textiles). I never miss a chance to visit the NK Shop, as it always inspires with its down-home mix of vintage furnishings, hand-picked homewares and cozy textiles.

A peek-through to the party coming into the NK Shop...

Catering was provided by Taste.

NK Shop offers custom lighting. These sconces in nickel, bronze and brass, respectively, are fresh, yet classic.

Some of Sean Daly's limited edition LOVE pillows. The watercolors were inspired by the skies in the work of 18th-century artist J.M.W. Turner. The free-line graphic pillows are a take on the work of Sister Corita Kent, and the tie-dyed pillows riff on the Japanese Shibori textile process. Sean Daly's Art Project in cooperation with NK Shop is a collaboration to support PS ARTS. PS ARTS is committed to improving kid's lives through art education.

They were displaying some lovely vintage-inspired ornaments for the holidays.

One of the larger and more complex of Michael's paintings, it provides great texture and color on the brick wall.

Each artist's work is displayed here. Its stunning how well the paintings, pillows and lights work together!

A pair of Michael's paintings over NK ottomans. They have an organic, repetition reminiscent of mineralogical occurrences, like crystal geodes. Michael finds inspiration in the additive processes in manufacturing as well as the proliferation of mold spores.
